The Music

The English Quadrille frequently works in close association with the pianist, Oliver Davies, who is on the staff of the Royal College of Music.
His researches into 19th century dance music ensure that the group's reputation for accuracy is maintained.

Oliver also directs several ensembles formed to recreate the music of the period and, with the harpist Rowena Bass, has accompanied the Quadrille on a number of occasions at Apsley and elsewhere.

The Quadrille has also worked with other established professional musicians including John Bradbury and the Wren Orchestra, Anthony Hose conducting both the London Mozart Players and the Welsh Chamber Orchestra, Jeremy Barlow and the Broadside Band and Richard Burnett at the Finchcocks living Museum of Music.

Ellis Rogers holds an extensive collection of dance music, gathered from England, Europe and the United States, from which the group's repertoire is drawn.
